Take it Easy–Enjoy Yourself

Spring break is over. Today is the last day and I’m just not ready to go back. I could use at least another week (who’s with me?!).

Despite my sadness at the winding down of this lovely time off, I have to reflect on what I’ve learned this week.

Let me start by explaining what I accomplished this week: nothing. Seriously, nothing of worth was accomplished and it was absolutely fabulous.

I went to Kentucky to watch a horse competition with two of my best friends, and then my parents visited us in our new house for a week. We bought some fabric for a quilt my mom is going to make. We ate some yummy food–homemade and restaurant made. I cleaned a bit and did some laundry. I cuddled all of my puppies. I read two books (I might squeeze in one more today). And that’s it.

So what did I learn this week? I learned that it is OKAY to take this time for myself, it is OKAY to take a break, it is OKAY not to think about school, it is OKAY not to write a blog post.

If you have finished your spring break, I hope it was relaxing and rejuvenating. If you’re about to begin, I hope you remember that it is OKAY to just do nothing. Relax, unwind, read a book, drink some wine (or beer, or tea, or whatever). Enjoy!

It’s time to #stopteacherguilt (check it out on Instagram!)!! Enjoy doing nothing!

Of the two books I read this week, I only recommend the following (affiliate link):

Thanks to an email from Gerard Dawson (who was inspired by Seth Godin), I was inspired to post every day for a week. Hopefully this will get me out of my slump and maybe, just maybe, I’ll have a golden nugget of wisdom to share this week.
